WATERBURY- Mrs. Kathleen M. Hellmann, age 67 of Waterbury, passed away at home on Monday, July 13, 2015 surrounded by the love and comfort of her family after an extended illness. She was the loving wife of James E. Hellmann.
Kathleen was born in Washington, D.C. the daughter of the late N. Edward and E. Frances (Hart) Garro. She was educated in the D.C. area and graduated from Lorraine High School. She moved to CT with her husband James in 1968 and held various positions at Chase School in Waterbury and most recently worked at Stop & Shop on Reidville Dr. in Waterbury. She was a parishioner of Saints Peter and Paul Church and enjoyed traveling but was always happiest while spending time with her grandchildren.
Besides her husband, James of 47 years, Kathleen is survived by her children; Gary Hellmann and his partner Jeffrey Garrand, her daughters, Cynthia "Cindy" Berube and her husband, Peter, Jennifer Wynn and her husband, Terry. She also leaves three sisters, Meg Moquete, Phyllis Schellinger, and Susan Garro as well as her three grandchildren Jordan, Michaela, and Sienna Wynn.
The Hellmann family would like to thank and acknowledge Kathleen's caregiver, Doris Cruz for all the loving care, comfort, and support she provided to Kathleen and her family over the past several years as well as the staff and nurses at Vitas Innovative Hospice.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hellmann will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at 6;45pm at Eastside Memorial, " A Casey Family Funeral Home & Tribute Center" 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury, CT 06705 Burial services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Friends and family may visit with Kathleen's family on Wednesday from 5:00 until the time of the services at 6:45pm at the funeral home.
