SOUTHBURY - Kathryn Ann Houlihan age 72 of Heritage Village Southbury passed away unexpectedly at her home on Friday December 23rd 2016.
Kathryn was born April 17th 1944 in Taunton, Massachusetts the daughter of the late Raymond and Amelia (Franko) Costa. She grew up in the Taunton area and was a graduate of Brown University where she earned her Bachelors degree. Prior to her retirement she worked as the Assistant Director of Financial Aide at Housatonic Valley Community College and previously worked as a financial aide advisor at Fairfield University. She enjoyed traveling and reading and was a member of two book clubs. She was active with many volunteer groups throughout the area including the OLLI program at UCONN. What brought the greatest joy to Katherine was spending time with her friends and family especially her grandchildren.
Among her survivors are her longtime companion George Hensinger of Norwalk, her son Brian Houlihan and his wife Deborah of Wolcott, her daughter Kate Houlihan of Cheshire, her sister Tricia Costa of Taunton, Ma in addition to her grandchildren Ethan and Sarah Brandt.
Funeral services for Mrs. Houlihan will be held on Thursday, December 29th, 2016 at 7:00pm at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd. Burial will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may visit with Mrs. Houlihan's family at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 4:00pm until the time of the service at 7:00pm.
