Devoted to his faith
MIDDLEBURY, CT – It is with deep sorrow and much love that the family of Kenneth Ballard Donnelly Jr, age 49, announce Kenneth was called home to be with our Lord on December 24th, 2024. He was the former husband of Michele (Biela) Donnelly.
Ken was born on May 7th, 1975, in New Haven, CT, the son of Kenneth Donnelly Sr and Donna (Kittrell) Donnelly. Kenneth was a proud son of East Haven, where he grew up in the Momauguin section, creating countless cherished childhood memories and lifelong friendships. A dedicated landscaper by trade, Kenneth had an innate love for nature, especially trees and flowers. His passion for design shone through in his ability to create beautiful landscape layouts that brought joy to many. Kenneth’s devotion to his faith was unwavering; a devoted Catholic, he was an active volunteer at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception and a cherished member of the ACTS group. Outside of his professional and community endeavors, Kenneth enjoyed tinkering in his garage and working on his trucks. He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and loved traveling, often seeking new places to explore. Ken found joy in cooking, delighting friends and family with his favorite dishes and culinary experiments. He will be remembered for his amazing sense of humor and his ability to make people smile. May he now enjoy eternal rest in the warm embrace of our Lord. Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory besides his parents of Mount Juliet, TN are his former wife, Michele (Biela) Donnelly of Seymour, CT as well as brother, Stephen Donnelly of Medford, FL and his extended family.
Funeral services for Kenneth will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 10:00 AM when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, 74 West Main St Waterbury. Those planning to attend are asked to meet directly at the church. There are no calling hours and burial will be held privately and at the convenience of his family. Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care has been honored to care for Kenneth and his family during this difficult time.
In this time of sorrow, let us celebrate Kenneth’s life and the joy he brought to others. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Loving-kindness is always welcome, and it only takes a moment to offer a message of condolence and share a memory or words of comfort with the family and friends of someone who was important to you.
