Lifetime career in the Health Care Industry
WATERBURY - It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Kevin R. Grohoski, age 66, a beloved member of our community, who died unexpectedly at his home on January 15, 2025
Kevin was born September 26, 1958, in Waterbury, CT the son of the late Raymond and Elizabeth (Lynch) Grohoski. Kevin was a proud graduate of Watertown High School and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in health sciences from Quinnipiac University. His passion for helping others led him to Naugatuck Valley Community College, where he completed his training as a respiratory therapist. Kevin's career began as an EMT and dispatcher for the former Medstar Ambulance Service. As a person always seeking to do more not just for himself but more importantly for others, he continued his dedication to the healthcare field, working as a respiratory technician at Waterbury Hospital, Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, and, most recently, the Health Complex. His unwavering commitment to his patients and colleagues made a lasting impact on everyone he encountered. Kevin's heart was as big as his love for his Irish heritage. He was a dedicated volunteer with the Watertown Fire Department, embodying the spirit of service in all aspects of his life. An avid NY Yankees fan, he spent countless hours cheering on his team. Above all, Kevin loved to travel, with Disney World holding a special place in his heart. He embraced every opportunity to create cherished memories with family and friends, bringing joy and laughter wherever he went. Left to honor and cherish his legacy are several cousins, other extended family members, and many close friends and colleagues. He was predeceased by his brother, Keith Grohoski and his fur baby, Jack.
A Celebration of Life to honor Kevin will be held in the future at a time and place which will be announced publicly. Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main St Waterbury, CT 06705, has been honored to care for Kevin and the Grohoski family. To honor Kevin's memory and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the American Cancer Society, at 1075 Chase Parkway Waterbury, CT 06708, or at www. donate.cancer.org would be greatly appreciated.
