THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING AND CARING FOR THE FAMILY OF KRISTIN LEONARD
Loving Mother, Sister, Daughter, and Friend
Kristin Sue Leonard passed away at St. Mary's Hospital early Tuesday morning on December 11, 2019, as a result of complications from a chronic liver disease. Kristin was 48 years old.
Kristin was born at Danbury Hospital in Danbury, Connecticut on August 20th, 1971. She was the youngest child and second daughter of Paul and Diane (Pregler) Leonard. Kristin graduated from Newtown High School, and was a hard worker for most of her early life, assisting her father with his auction business and running a deli for a number of years. She became a faithful homemaker after Megan's birth.
Even in times of emotional and financial hardship, Kristin made sure to give her daughter an enriching childhood. Despite being unmarried, she and Jack raised Megan side-by-side for the duration of both their lives. She leaves behind a legacy of love and maternal warmth; from the kitten she got her daughter on her sixth birthday, to taking her to every one of her softball practices and games, to her unwavering support for Megan's schooling, life, and love, Kristin's life was one filled with love and endurance, which will long be reflected in the memory of her.
While Kristin's loss comes with deep sorrow, solace comes in the form of knowing she is no longer in pain. She remains in the hearts of those who knew her best, and in the memory of those who knew her.
Kristin is predeceased by her long-time partner, John "Jack" Richard Colleran. She is survived by her twenty-year-old daughter, Megan Colleran; her siblings, Kim Oshman and Jason Leonard; her nephews, Tom Lebert and Samuel Karhan, as well as, extended family and friends.
Special thanks to the staff at Waterbury Hospital, St. Mary's Hospital, and VITAS hospice services for their services.
A memorial for Kristin will be held privately at her sister's home at the convenience of the family.
