WATERBURY, CT – It is with deep sorrow that the family of Kristin White, age 51, of Waterbury, CT, announce the unexpected passing of their beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend, who passed away peacefully on February 11th, 2025, at Saint Mary’s Hospital after an extended illness.
Kristin was born March 30, 1973, in Wilkes-Barre, PA, the daughter of Winifred (Macaluso) Martinkovic and the recently departed Joseph Martinkovic. She received her bachelor's degree in English from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY in 1995. Kristin devoted her career to education including her 20-plus year tenure at Westover School in Middlebury, CT. Most recently, Kristin served as Head of Middle School at the Brass City Charter School where she was a beloved administrator, teacher, and mentor. Her passion for teaching and commitment to her students left an indelible mark on the educational community. Her compassion and support touched the lives of countless students and colleagues, and her legacy will resonate within the halls of the schools she loved so dearly.
Kristin was a devoted daughter, mother and sister; her family meant the most to her. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her. May her gentle spirit rest in peace.
Left to honor her memory besides her mother, Winifred, are her children, Andrew and Olivia White; her siblings, Justin Martinkovic and Lauren Mullins; her uncle, Most Reverend Christie Macaluso, Auxiliary Bishop Emeritus, Archdiocese of Hartford, several nieces and nephews, and other extended family members, as well as many friends and colleagues.
A Memorial Gathering to honor Kristin’s life will be held on Sunday, February 23rd, 2025 from 12:00 noon until 1:45, followed by a prayer service, at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main St., Waterbury, CT 06705. Burial in the family plot at Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield, CT will be held privately at the family’s convenience.
