WATERBURY - Mr. Lawrence T. Pisapio Sr. "Chief", passed away on Friday, November 24th, 2017 at St Mary's Hospital. He was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, his high school sweetheart, Rosalind (Exarhou) Pisapio.

Larry was born in Waterbury CT on August 2, 1940, the son of the late Adolph and Ann Pisapio. Larry was a proud lifelong Waterbury resident and graduate of Wilby High School Class of 1958, where he was a star basketball player. He was a retired letter carrier from the U.S Postal Service and a self-employed tax practitioner, where many coworkers and clients became life-long friends. Larry was an avid Boston Red Sox, UConn Women Huskies, and overall sports fan. He was a champion card player at the Waterbury Elks, a Boys Club Hall of Famer, and a former member of the City of Waterbury, Board of Education. Larry proudly served in the Coast Guard and was a parishioner of the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception.

Larry was hardworking, humorous, and a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He was known for his sharp-wit and being the life of the party. Together he and his wife, built a wonderful family, a group of beloved friends, and a business that they shared together. He will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.

Larry is survived by his son, Lawrence "Larry" Pisapio Jr. and his wife, Gail of Holliston, Massachusetts, and his daughter, Lori McDonald of Southington. He was the proud grandfather of his four grandchildren; Lawrence "Larry" Pisapio III, Alexandra McDonald, Lindsay Pisapio, and Nicholas Pisapio. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews: Debbie, Donna, Michael, Robert, Tracey, Jessica and brothers-in-law Nick Exarhou and Joe (Sonny) Rinaldi.

Funeral services for Mr. Pisapio will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2017 when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, 74 West Main St Waterbury at 9:30 a.m. Everyone is welcome and kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
