WATERBURY - Mr. Leo J. Davignon, age 87 of Port Saint Lucie Florida, formerly of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Yale New Haven Hospital surrounded by the love and comfort of his family after a brief illness. He was the widower of Phyllis (DiStefano) and Marcolina (Vila) Davignon

Leo was born October 16th 1928 in Meriden, CT, the son of the late Eudore and Marie (Gagnon) Davignon. He proudly served his country with the US Air Force and spent many years working as a traffic controller for Timex until his retirement in 1991 when he relocated to Florida. He was a former member of the Wallingford Senior Center and former parishioner of St Leo the Great Church in Waterbury and was active in several associations including the Elks Club, VFW, and American Legion. He enjoyed bowling, taking trips to the casino, traveling, dancing and playing cards especially setback and bridge.

Among his survivors are his daughters, Ann Davignon and her husband, Keith Miller of Waterbury, Gloria Stowell and her husband, George of Wallingford, He is also survived by two step daughters Eileen Hage of Charlotte, NC,and Glenis Vila of Bakersfield, CA. His daughter in-law Kathy Davignon and his sisters, Alice Parys and Juliette Cousino both of Meriden in addition to his 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sons, Thomas and Michael Davignon as well as a brother and several sisters.

Funeral services for Mr. Davignon will be held on Tuesday October 11th 2016 at 10:00am at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home , 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury followed by burial with full military honors in New Pine Grove Cemetery. Friends and family may visit with Leo's family at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 9:00am until the time of the services at 10:00am. An additional memorial service for Leo will be held in Florida at a time and date to be announced.
