OAKVILLE - Leo Frank Kafchinski, age 84 of Oakville, passed away on Thursday February 25, 2016 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Patricia (Martin) Kafchinski of 62 years.
Leo was born June 14, 1931 in Scranton, PA., a son of the late Frank and Anna (Sierkaka) Kafchinski and lived in Oakville for several years. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as a Tank Commander in the 14th Armored Division with a tour in Germany. Prior to his retirement, he owned and operated , Leo's Iron Works. Leo was a member of the VFW Post 7330, American Legion Post 195, BPO Elk's Lodge 265 and a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, Life Member. Leo was an avid fisherman, boater and former member of Waterbury Deep Sea Fishing Club.
Besides Patricia, his wife of 62 years, he leaves his children; Leon Kafchinski and his wife, Elizabeth of Litchfield, Larry Kafchinski and his wife, Barbara of Alabaster, AL., Leonard Kafchinski of Watertown, Lynn Stark and her husband, Stephen of Shelbyville, KY, Lori Muni and her husband, John of New Smyrna Beach, FL., 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and his sister, Mary Paluzzi of FL. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Lisa Ann Kafchinski and his sister, Frances White.
Funeral services for Mr. Kafchinski will be private and will be held at the convenience of the family.
