"Devoted husband and father"

WATERBURY - Leonid Kalmanovsky, age 72, of Waterbury, passed away on Wednesday November 4, 2020 surrounded by his family at Mid-State Medical Center in Meriden. He was the beloved husband of Zoya (Kupershmidt) Kalmanovsky.

Leonid was born on November 5, 1948 in Kiev, Ukraine, son of late Lev Kalmanovsky and late Beyla Kalmanovsky (Bilman). He came to Connecticut with his wife and son in 1979. Leonid worked at Sheldon Precision for 38 years. He also worked part time for H & R Block for 25 years. Leonid loved helping people. No request for help big or small from family, friends or charity ever went unanswered. His most treasured time was when surrounded by the love of his family. He was the most loving and supportive father and husband who will be sadly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him. He enjoyed most spending his time with his family.

Left to cherish the sweetness of memories of him, besides his loving wife of 50 years, Zoya are his son, Boris Kalmanovsky, his granddaughter, Rachel Elizabeth Kalmanovsky, his brother, Mikael Kalman and his wife Elena,
brother-in-law, Ilya Kupershmidt and his wife, Yelena as well as cousins, nieces and nephews.

In keeping with the Jewish tradition, Mr Kalmanovsky was laid to final rest in the family plot in Melchizedek Cemetery, Waterbury on Thursday, November 5, 2020, his birthday.
