WATERBURY ~ Liduvina Rodriguez, 93 of Waterbury passed away on Friday, February 10th 2023 in the comfort of her home surrounded by the love of her family after an extended illness. She was the widower of Luis Virgilio Rodriguez Sr.
Mrs. Rodriguez was born on April 14th 1929, in Ponce, P.R., the daughter of the late Clotilde and Paula (Santiago) Augirre. She was raised in Puerto Rico, where she originally worked as a seamstress in local towns and crafted many of her own children’s clothing. Later she relocated to New York City, where she worked as an assistant dietary aide at Bellevue Hospital and retired from Governors Hospital in the City. She enjoyed knitting and sewing and was always happiest while spending time with her children. Liduvina was truly unique and creative in so many ways. She made the world a better place for all of us, and we are all blessed and thankful to have had her in our lives.
left to cherish her memory and honor her legacy are her children, Nathaniel and Ivan Rodriguez of New York City and David Rodriguez of N. Miami Beach, Fl, and his daughters, Naomi of New York City, and Deborah Rodriguez of Waterbury. She also leaves many grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her sons, Roberto & Virgilio Rodriquez, Jr.
Funeral services for Mrs. Rodriguez will be held on Tuesday, February 21st 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main St Waterbury, CT 06705. Relatives and friends may visit with the Rodriguez family on Tuesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery.
