WATERBURY - Lillian Rose MacKinnon age 74, of Waterbury, died unexpectedly Monday, January 4, 2016 at St. Mary's Hospital, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family after a brief illness. She was the wife of Robert MacKinnon.
Lil was born August 12th 1941, the daughter of the late Lillian and Walter (Smith) McFarlin. She was raised in Cheshire and was a graduate of Cheshire High School. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and Nana who lived for her family, who were the most important to her. Lil looked forward to family gatherings and cherished every moment spent together. Nothing made her happier. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren, working in her flower gardens and playing her favorite games on her tablet.
Besides her husband, Robert of 53 years, Lil is survived by her children, Donna Pollo & husband, David of Wolcott, Christopher MacKinnon & wife, Susan of Watertown and Mark MacKinnon & his wife, Amy of Terryville. She also leaves her brother, Walter McFarlin & wife, Maureen, of West Springfield, MA and her sister, Ethel Zorn & husband, George of Spring Hill, FL. In addition, she leaves her five grandchildren: Corey, Zachary, Haley, Carly, and Ashley as well as many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are Friday, January 8,2016 from 5:00 ~ 7:00pm at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd, Waterbury, followed by a brief funeral service at 7:00pm.
