WATERTOWN - Linda M. Gorman, age 61 of Watertown, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2017 at the Vitas Innovative Care Unit at St. Mary's Hospital after a courageous battle with ALS. She was the wife of Daniel Gorman.
Linda was born on March 8, 1956 in Camp Lejeune, NC., the daughter of Marcel Veronneau of Watertown and the late Mariette (Fortier) Veronneau. Linda grew up in Waterbury and was a graduate of St. Anne's Grammar School and Sacred Heart High School. She received her Nursing Degree from the University of Bridgeport and spent many years working as an Operating Room nurse at Mid-State Medical Center and also spent several years in the OR and Maternity Ward at St. Mary's Hospital. Linda was an exceptionally talented pastel artist who also enjoyed gardening, camping, hiking and classic cars. Linda always loved spending time at home, especially when preparing and decorating for any upcoming holiday. What brought the greatest joy to Linda was spending time with her family and most of all her grandchildren. She was a parishioner of St. Teresa's Church in Woodbury where she was a former member of the choir.
Besides her husband of 41 years, Daniel and her father, Marcel, Linda is survived by her children; Katherine Green her husband, Doctor Brandon Green of Eugene OR, Daniel A. Gorman and his wife, Mary of Dover, NH and Nicole Olson and her husband, Jake of Fairfield, CT. She also leaves her grandchildren, Samuel, Eleanor, Benjamin, Claire and Charlotte as well as her sisters, Susan Palasciano and her husband, Paul of Thomaston, and Janice Shannon and her husband, John of Watertown as well as her mother-in-law, Ruth Gorman of Thomaston, and her many beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Gorman will be held on Friday, December 22nd 2017 at St. Anne's Church 515 South Main St, Waterbury when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM. Those planning to attend are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will be held, privately, at a later date, in South Cemetery in Woodbury. Friends and family may visit with Linda's family on Thursday December 21st 2017 at the O'Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main St Oakville, from 4:30 ~ 8:00 PM.
