Fun-loving, Embraced Life, Hard Working

THOMASTON: Linda Ellen LoRusso, age 62, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. She was the loving wife of James Kevin LoRusso.

Linda was born on September 22, 1951 in Waterbury, the oldest daughter of the late Benjamin A. Bensavage who died May 1, 1991 and Mary D. Bensavage (Glynn) of Torrington. She was raised in Watertown and was a graduate of Watertown High School. Linda worked as an Accounts Payable/Receivable Coordinator at Coilplus CT in Waterbury for the past twenty years.

Linda cherished her family and friends and loved to spend time with them at her home entertaining in the backyard where she shared her love of good music and dancing along with her talent for cooking. Summer was Linda's favorite season and was happiest at home floating in her pool. Every May or October Linda would sneak away for a week-long vacation in Florida to extend the season. She was a devoted New York Yankees fan and she was especially delighted to watch ball games at Yankee Stadium and Fenway Park. Linda also enjoyed March Madness, the Triple Crown horse races, trips to the casino, and Jai-Alai.

In addition to her husband Jim of 28 years, she leaves her daughter Julie L. Bradshaw of Thomaston, her two sons: James K. LoRusso, Jr. of Aurora, CO, and Michael B. LoRusso of Thomaston, her step-daughter Kerensa Salvietti and husband Mike of Northfield, her sister Debra DiMaria and husband Peter, and their son Daniel who was Linda's Godson all of Goshen, her brother Benjamin Bensavage of Fort Lauderdale, FL, three grandchildren and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Linda will also be missed by her dog Lilly. She was predeceased by her ex-husband Clarence P. Bradshaw, Jr.

Linda will be remembered for her vibrantly colored manicures and her meticulously coordinated outfits. In honor of Linda's fun-loving spirit and zest for life the family asks those who wish to join them in a celebration of her life wear a splash of pink on Saturday in her memory.
