THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING AND CARING FOR LINDA RYER AND HER FAMILY
Loving, Selfless, Compassionate and Caring
WATERBURY - Linda (Fitzgerald) Ryer, age 71 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, December 13, 2020 after a short battle with cancer.
Linda was born January 13, 1949 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Robert and Eileen (Barringer) Fitzgerald. She was a graduate of Crosby High School and worked for many years in the Healthcare and Social Services Industries. Linda had a great passion for helping others, especially those with disabilities. Linda was an extremely caring and compassionate person who would lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She had little but gave so very much. Linda appreciated the simple things in life, and understood that the most valuable things in life aren't "things" at all. She loved being by the ocean, especially Cape Cod. She was a wonderful Mom, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, sister and friend. She was most happy being surrounded by the loving close-knit family she nurtured who will deeply miss her smile and warm heart.
She leaves to honor her memory, two daughters; Melissa Paradise (Hosea) and Kerri Curry (Vincent) five grandchildren; Aubrie (Keith), Aliyha (Bryan), Jordan, and Cynthia (Anthony) Paradise and Alyvia Curry, 3 great grandchildren; Julian, Jayce and Ava and her sister, Lorna (Bruce) Weingart. She was also "grandma" to Kyle (Valerie) Norton and their sons; Kyle, Carter and Jackson, Hikiem Paradise and his daughter, Kailyn, and Andrew, Marcus and Vincent Curry.
Funeral services will be private and Linda's family will have a private celebration of her life on Cape Cod in the spring. Memories endure only if you share them so you are encouraged to leave a condolence, words of comfort or a personal memory with the Ryer family on Linda's tribute page at
