Loving husband, father, grandfather

 WATERBURY - It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that the family of Lionel Rodriguez Jimenez, age 67, of Waterbury, announce his peaceful passing at Saint Vincent’s Hospital in Bridgeport on July 30th, 2024, surrounded by his loving wife, Maria Ramirez Rodriguez.

Lionel was born in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico, on May 5th, 1957, the son of Manuel Rodriguez and the late Camelia Jimenez. Lionel grew up and spent most of his young adult life in Puerto Rico, eventually immigrating to Waterbury, Connecticut and became a Cars Salesman for many local car companies. He enjoyed working and traveling but he was the most happy when he was spending time with his family. Lionel was exceptional in almost every way, but he excelled the most at being a devoted husband, father and grandfather. 

Left to honor his memory besides his devoted wife, Maria, are his three sons: Lionel Rodriguez of Waterbury, Eliud Rodriguez of Waterbury and Elvin Rodriguez of Waterbury, his four grandchildren; Eliud Rodriguez Jr., Charimar Rivera, Leilani Rodriguez and Kamila Rodriguez. Lionel was predeceased by his mother, Camelia Jimenez.

The family will receive relatives and friends locally on Thursday, August 1st, 2024, from 5:30 until 8:00 p.m. at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Center 1987 East Main St Waterbury 06705. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Puerto Rico.
