WATERBURY - It is with great sadness and broken hearts that the family of Lisa A Martin age 60 of Waterbury, share the news of her unexpected passing on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at home. She was the longtime partner of Joseph Flammia.
Lisa was born June 25, 1964, in Waterbury the daughter of John “Jack” Martin and the late Matilda (Rosa) Martin. She was educated in local schools and graduated from Notre Dame Academy. Lisa worked for over 40 years in the banking industry for the last 30 + years at Webster Bank. At the time of her passing she was the branch manager of the Wolcott office. If you know anything about Lisa Martin, you know how completely devoted she was to her community. She was the President of the local Lions Club for a total of 24 years from 2000 until 2005 and again from 2009 until this past June and was still very active with all their various activities. Her commitment of time, talent and treasure earned her every single prestigious award that a Lioness could receive. She was a member of other various Boards and Commissions within the City of Waterbury and the general Waterbury area, including the Salvation Army and Main St, Waterbury as well as others. At the time of her passing, she was an active member of the City of Waterbury Retirement Board. She enjoyed shopping, especially for handbags and spending time with her extended family and dozens of friends. She was a sterling example of everything good, humility, honesty, integrity and generosity.
Besides her partner of 44 years, and her Dad, Lisa leaves numerous cousins, extended family members and friends to mourn her unexpected loss.
Funeral services for Lisa will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main Street, Waterbury, CT. Burial will be held at the convenience of her family. Relatives and friends may visit with Lisa’s family on Thursday evening from 4:00 p.m. until the service commences at 6:30 p.m. To honor Lisa’s memory, donations to the Waterbury Lions Club PO Box 749 Waterbury CT 06702 would be greatly appreciated by her family.
