Beloved wife, mother and grandmother
WATERBURY- Lois S. Carroll, age 72, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on Saturday, November 12th 2022, surrounded by the love of her family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of James “Jim” Carroll.
Lois was born November 25th, 1949, in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of the late Emile and Lucienne (Gelinas) Bedard. She was a graduate of Kennedy High School and spent many years working as the Office Manager for the Country Club of Waterbury and also spent several years working at The Graduate Club at Yale University until her retirement. Lois enjoyed knitting and was a member of the Prospect Senior Center knitting club and enjoyed traveling with her husband, Jim. What brought the greatest joy to Lois was spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory, besides her devoted husband and soulmate of 40 years, Jim are her children; Jeanne Sasso and her husband, John of Watertown, Michael Heroux and his wife, Michelle of Simsbury, and her stepson, Brian Carroll and his wife, Jessica of Trumbull. Lois and Jim were blessed with 8 adoring grandchildren: Douglas, Lindsey, Nicholas, John Jr, Hannah, Benjamin, William, and Sydney as well as her great grand-children, Charlotte and Ellie.
Funeral services for Mrs. Carroll will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Our Lady of Loretto Church 12 Ardsley Ave, Waterbury. Those planning to attend are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Mt Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. Relatives and friends may visit with Lois’s family on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Casey-O’Neill Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 742 Main St Oakville, CT 06779.
