AT THE CASEY-O'DONNELL FAMILY FUNERAL HOME WATERBURY
Garland Texas - Lois Clarke, age 89, passed away quietly on Sept 16th at her home in Garland Texas. She was the wife of the late Edward S. Clarke and was born in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of late Hiram and Adel Smith.
Lois was a graduate of Waterbury Catholic High, and traveled the world with Ed while he was a Major in the Army. After Ed retired, she returned to CT and moved to Middlebury to raise her family. With Ed's sudden passing in 1973, Lois continued to travel, moving first to Alabama, then on to Austin Texas and finally settling in Garland.
Lois was a very artistic person who cheered for her Texas Rangers. She was plagued with poor heath for most of this past year but was mobile and back at home till she passed quietly in her sleep. It was her wish to be cremated and have her remains returned back to Connecticut to be laid to rest with her husband Ed.
Among her survivors are her sons, Michael and his wife Teresa, David and his wife Mary and her daughter Mary Clarke, as well as 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Clarke will be held on Monday September 24th at 10:00a.m.at Saint John of the Cross Church 1321 Whittemore Rd. Middlebury, CT to Celebrate the Liturgy of Christian Burial. Rites of Committal and Interment will follow in Middlebury Cemetery. Those planning on attending are asked to meet directly at the church. There are no calling hours.
