Loretta Jeanette Veillette ?" age 89 of Gilbert Rd. Watertown died peacefully Friday May 23rd at Waterbury extended care after a short illness. She was the widow of Benjamin Eugene Veillette.
Mrs. Veillette was born February 14th 1919 in Waterbury, Ct the daughter of the late Arthur and Alice (Cheverette) Turcotte. She was educated in local schools and was employed at Hemingway Bartlett Company as a textile worker. She was a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother who was always there for her family. She was an avid crocheter and enjoyed making blankets for her family, but most of all enjoyed spending time and spoiling her grandchildren.
Among her survivors are a son Eugene Veillette and his wife Gail of Bantam, three daughters Mary Ellen MacMillan and her husband Craig of Watertown, Alice Pesce and her husband Anthony of Oakville, and Elizabeth Boisvert and her husband Samuel of Torrington, a brother Francis Turcotte of Maryland, a sister Florence Turner of Yuha City Ca, as well as five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Services for Mrs. Veillettle will be held Wednesday May 28th at 1:15 p.m. from the O'Neill Funeral Home (742 Main St Oakville) to Saint John the Evangelist church for a mass of Christian burial at 2:00 p.m. Friends and family may visit the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the services. Burial will follow in New Saint Joseph's Cemetery in Waterbury. Memorial contributions can be made to Waterbury Extended Care Facility 45 Bunker Hill Ave Watertown, Ct 06795.
