WATERBURY - Ms. Lorraine Boyles age 88, of Wildemere Ave. passed away unexpectedly at Rosegarden Health & Rehab Center on May 22nd 2013.
Lorraine was born April 5th 1925, the daughter of the late Francis and Elizabeth (Moriarty) Boyles. She was a lifelong Waterbury resident, attended Sacred Heart grammar and High Schools and worked as a telephone operator at Scovill Manufacturing and most recently as an assistant librarian at the Waterbury Republican newspaper. Lorraine enjoyed life and enjoyed making people smile, she regularly visited nursing homes in the area to spend time with the residents to brighten their day with a caring smile. Lorraine also enjoyed knitting and was very proud of her Irish heritage. She was a very generous individual who supported many local charities and organizations but always seemed happiest while surrounded by her family. She was a former member of Sacred Heart Church in Waterbury and more recently a member of the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Church.
Among her survivors are her sister, Helen Mullen of Waterbury and several nieces and nephews including Patty Mullen of Waterbury and Laurie Cahill of Cheshire.
Lorraine's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Rosegarden Health & Rehab Center for the special care and attention they shared with Lorraine. Funeral services for Ms. Boyles will be held on Saturday, May25th, 2013 at 10:00 am with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, 74 West Main St., Waterbury. Those planning to attend are asked to go directly to the church. Rites of Committal will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury.
