Lorraine H. Blazys

.WATERTOWN - Lorraine H. (Grant) Blazys age 89 of Watertown, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love and comfort of her entire family after a brief illness. She was the widow of John Blazys.

Lorraine was born on February 15, 1928 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Harry and Elizabeth (Osier) Grant. She attended local schools, including Waterbury Catholic High School and was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker all of her life. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, a member of the Young Women's Guild there as well as a member of the Wolcott VFW Post 1979 and the State of CT, Grange. She loved cooking, baking and time spent with her family. In her later years, she always looked forward to her weekly Saturday trip to the hairdresser with her friend Sylvia, out to lunch at Oakville Pizza but most of all just sitting in her garage watching life go by and waving to all of her neighbors. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Lorraine leaves her children; sons, John C Blazys Jr. and his wife, Jeri of Allegan MI, James A. Blazys and his wife, Ellen of Watertown, her daughters, Deborah E. Blazys and her husband, Edward Distefano of Watertown, Lynn Blazys and her wife, Stephanie Butz of Augusta MI, Lorrie Thornberg and her husband, Allen of Brewster MA and Mary Blazys of Eugene OR. She also leaves 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings; Alice Rosa, Edwin Grant, Anna Davis, Elizabeth Pawlowski and Hazel Grant.

Funeral services for Mrs. Blazys will be private and held at the convenience of her family.
