WATERBURY, CT - Mrs. Lorraine M. (Kennedy) Wildman, age 87 of Waterbury passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 30, 2015 at Waterbury Hospital surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. She was the widow of Emil Wildman.
Lorraine was born on August 12, 1928 in Waterbury the daughter of the late Francis and Rosella (Shugrue) Kennedy. A lifelong resident of Waterbury, she graduated from Wilby High School and was employed for many years at Uniroyal both in Naugatuck and Middlebury as a Computer Analyst. Lorraine was all about "family". She spent years at swimming pools, baseball diamonds, soccer fields and the gridiron, watching her five grandchildren compete in various sporting events. An avid sports enthusiast herself, she was a fan of the Boston Red Sox and UConn Womens basketball. Lorraine was very active in her church, St. Francis Xavier where she was a member of the Ladies Guild and a Eucharistic Minister. She would be the first to step up and care for those in her family or close friends when ill but above all else, she was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed every minute possible with her family.
She is survived by her son, Richard Wildman and his wife Diane of Goshen, her brothers, Raymond Kennedy of Tamarac FL and Robert Kennedy and his wife Alice of Naugatuck and her daughter-in-law Denise Wildman of Waterbury. She also leaves her grandchildren, Jonathan, Matthew, Michael, David and Mark Wildman and her two great grandchildren, Leah and Kali. She was predeceased by her son, Greg Wildman and her siblings, Francis Kennedy Jr, Rita Dumchot, Edmund Kennedy, Margaret Johnson and Dorothy O'Toole. The Wildman Family would like to acknowledge and express their personal appreciation to Drs: Kett, Widman and Ruggerio as well as all of the staff at Waterbury Hospital for the care they provided to Lorraine during her illness. Their kindness will not be forgotten.
Funeral services for Mrs. Wildman will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at 8:45 a.m. from Eastside Memorial "A Casey Family Funeral Home and Tribute Center" 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury to St. Francis Xavier Church, 625 Baldwin St., Waterbury when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Mt Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. Relatives and friends may visit with Lorraine's family on Wednesday evening from 6:00 till 8:00 p.m. To honor Lorraine's memory, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to: The Salvation Army of Waterbury, 74 Central Ave Waterbury CT 06702.
