Lorraine Marie Perreault
Created a League of Her Own
Lorraine Marie Perreault, 88, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her enormous, loving, vivacious family on Friday, January 18th, 2019 at Waterbury Hospital after a short battle with lung cancer. She was born on December 1, 1930 in Waterbury, CT to the late William "Tootsie" Robillard and Rhea Robillard (née Finn). She is predeceased by her sons William Konopelski, Thomas Konopelski, and Glen Perreault; daughters Lorraine Konopelski and Jeanne McConnell; daughter-in-law Melissa Perreault (née Finney); sons-in-law John McConnell and Charles Foley; along with two grandchildren, Daniel Perreault Jr. and Jennifer Perreault, and one great grandchild, Angel Perreault.
She was a caregiver at The Pine Manor Adult Residential Care Home for many years. She enjoyed taking care of and spending time with her family. Although she had many family members, she always had a way of making each of them feel like the most special person in the world. Known as Gram by her family and loved ones, Lorraine had a sweet tooth and enjoyed York Peppermint Patties, Butterfingers, all things Coconut, Salt Water Taffy and Ribbon Candy; she also loved Frito Lays to curve her salt cravings. She was the most loving yet fierce woman ever to live. She was never great at keeping secrets and would always "spill the beans" on what the grandkids should expect on Christmas morning from their parents. Her door was never shut to anyone in the family, regardless of what day or time it was. Mother to 11, grandmother to 33, great grandmother to 41, great-great grandmother to two-Lorraine created a league of her own.
She is survived by a son David Konopelski and his wife Joyce of Wolcott, daughter Lori Perreault of Waterbury, daughter Paula Perreault of Waterbury, daughter Tammy Perreault of Waterbury, son Paul "Junie" Perreault Jr. of Waterbury, and son Daniel Perreault of Waterbury; daughters-in-law Deborah Konopelski (née William) and Suzanne Konopelski (née Thomas); and all of her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Her family thanks Chelsea Pelletier and Ayuk Julienne Linda for providing Lorraine with such wonderful care, at home, up until her final days.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 25th, 2019 with a viewing from 9am-11am at Casey's Eastside Memorial, 1987 East Main Street, Waterbury, CT, 06705 with interment at New Pine Grove Cemetery.
