AT THE O'NEILL FUNERAL HOME - Louis Domenic Ciaramella (Chick) age 77 of Yorktown, formerly of Oakville, passed away Thursday, April 2, 2009 at the home of his daughter Narielle Living. He was the widow of Frances (Fauber) Ciaramella, his wife of over 50 years before her passing in 2006.
Louis was born August 29, 1931 in Waterbury, a son of the late Louis and Mary Ciaramella and was a Yorktown resident for the last 2 1/2 years. Prior to his retirement in 1995, Louis was employed at Northeast Utilities where he worked for over 30 years. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He was an avid sportsman, enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a member of Bethlehem Rod and Gun Club. He spent a great deal of time caring for his yard in Watertown and always had a large garden. Louis was a communicant of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Virginia and Saint John the Evangelist Church in Watertown. Louis was a kind and gentle man who cared very deeply for his family. His pride and joy in life was watching his children grow, and later spending time with his grandson. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Louis leaves a son Louis Ciaramella of Durango, CO; a daughter Narielle Living and her husband Stephen of Yorktown; a brother Sonny Ciaramella of Waterbury, CT; four sisters, Violet Marino of Meriden, CT, Nancy Ciaramella of Prospect, CT, Rose Lagasse and Terri Nigro, both of Waterbury CT; and a grandson Morgan Living. He was preceded by two sons, William and Steven Ciaramella and a daughter Sandra Ciaramella.
Funeral Saturday April 18 at 10 a.m. directly at Saint John the Evangelist Church, 574 Main Street, Watertown, CT 06795. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
