WATERBURY - Louis Francis Hychko age 61 of South Windsor, formerly of Waterbury, passed over to the Lord's Kngdom, surrounded by his loved ones on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Hartford Hospital after a short but valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. He was the husband of Laura (Dentamauro) Hychko.
Lou was born on March 30, 1960 in Waterbury the son of John Hychko and the late Marie (Ferrucci) Hychko. He was a graduate of St Anne's Grammar School and Holy Cross High School and furthered his studies at the University of R.I. Before too long he realized that working with his family was a better education than higher ed and he grew up working very hard in his family's auto junkyard and demolition industries. Lou was a very good baseball player in his youth and he was a longtime member of the Laborers Union Local 230 in the concrete and building trades. Later in life he perfected his hand in the restaurant industry and worked diligently to build his final endeavor "Mikey's Deli" which was named in honor of his late brother. Before it had a chance to fully realize its potential Lou was struck down with his illness. He will be fondly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.
Left to honor his memory and cherish his legacy besides his dear wife, Laura and his father John are his sons: John Hychko and his wife Shannon of South Portland ME and Louis F. Hychko and his wife Jamie of Gorham ME, his step son, Gary Laplante and his fiancé Mary of MA. He also leaves his siblings; John Jr, David, Gary, Paul, Lisa Guisto and Michelle Brady, his grandchildren; Joseph, Logan and Lorraine and many nieces and nephews.
