THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE CARING FOR AND ASSISTING THE FAMILY OF LOUIS KNIGHT


OAKVILLE - Louis B. Knight Jr., age 91, passed away peacefully at his grandsons home in Prospect, on October 3, 2017 surrounded by the love and comfort of his family after an extended illness. He was the husband of the late Gertrude (Phelan) Knight.

Louis was born on July 1, 1926 in Waterbury CT, the son of the late Louis and Mary (Rogers) Knight.
He graduated from Wilby High School in 1944, and enlisted in the U.S. Army where he proudly served his country as a Corporal in the 214th Army Air Force until 1946 and was awarded World War II Victory Medal and the American Campaign Medal. After being honorably discharged, Mr. Knight began working as an eyelet toolmaker and later became the owner and operator of Knight Manufacturing which is still operated by his nephew, James Troland. Louis' true passion was his family who he loved with all his heart and always looked forward to spending Sundays with them. Louis will be remembered for his quick wit and ability to make everyone laugh and he will be sadly missed by his family and all who were blessed to know and love him.

He leaves behind his step-daughter, Paula Feduzi Glick, his grandson, Matthew Feduzi and his wife, Raquel of Prospect, and his granddaughter, Erica Breen and her husband, Timothy of Sicklerville, NJ. Louis also leaves his sister, Margaret Troland as well as his great grandchildren Ian Breen, Sophia Feduzi, Stasha Feduzi and Avery Breen along with several nephews, nieces and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Harris Knight and sister, Virginia Knight Veillette. The family would like to thank and acknowledge the wonderful staff of Season's Hospice as well as Companions and Homemakers for the wonderful care and support they provided to Louis and his family during his illness..

Funeral services for Mr. Knight will be held on Monday, October 9, 2017 when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Church, 574 Main Street, Watertown, CT at 11:00 a.m. Burial with full military honors will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Family and friends may visit with Louis' family on Monday morning from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m. at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home, 1987 East Main Street @ Southmayd Road, Waterbury, CT To extend on-line expressions of sympathy to the family or for additional information, kindly visit the funeral home website at: www.eastsidememorial.com .
