WOLCOTT, CT Louis N. Mascola, 58, of 258 Woodtick Rd., husband of Susan (Hoyt) Mascola, died Friday at St. Mary's Hospital.

Louis was born December 7, 1949 in Waterbury a son of Briday (Clisham) Carser and the late Louis Mascolo. He lived most of his life in Naugatuck where he participated in athletics and was an exceptional pitcher on the Naugatuck High School baseball team. Lou was an avid reader and he loved kids and teaching. For many years, after receiving his Associates Degree in science from Mattatuck Community College, he was a substitute teacher and was a United States Army veteran.

Besides his wife of Waterbury and his mother and stepfather Edmund Carser of Waterbury, Mr. Mascola leaves 2-sons, Christopher Mascola of Woodbury and Louis Paul Mascola of Waterbury, 3-daughters Lisa Shook of Waterbury, Rachel DaSilva of Watertown and Vanessa Minnifield and her husband Jason Minnifield of Wolcott,
2-sisters Sherry Mitchell and her husband Russell Mitchell and Bridget Arias and her husband Luis Arias all of Waterbury, his stepmother Katherine Mascolo of Waterbury, 6 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Lou was pre-deceased by a brother Paul Mascola.



A Military Funeral will be held Thursday, February 14, 2008 at 10:00am from the Casey-O'Donnell Family Funeral Home, 1581 East Main St. Waterbury to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church St., Naugatuck for a Mass at 11:00am. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00pm.
