OAKVILLE - Louis D. Sirois, 72, of Oakville, CT entered eternal peace on May 7, 2020. Louis was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Louis was born October 14, 1947 in Waterbury, CT to Stella M. and the late Leonard J. Sirois. He graduated Kaynor Tech where he studied Tool and Die Trade in 1965. Upon graduation Louis joined the United States Marine Corps. A very proud time in his life as he served 2 tours in Vietnam as a Recon Field Radio Operator. Several family members looked up to Louis and followed his path into the Marines. "Semper Fi" .Upon his honorable discharge Louis had several jobs in the construction and tool trade before becoming a full-time bartender and favorite to many at Rinaldi's and Ro's Pizza. While bartending Louis also worked for the Watertown School System as a custodian.
He met his wife Joan Sweeney Sirois in 1974 and they married in 1979 and have been blessed with 46 years of a beautiful partnership. He helped raise her two children who he loved as his own. Louis was an active member of the VFW Post 201 where he met many lifelong friends. He also was a member of the American Legion Post 195 and a 3rd Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus. His grandchildren were truly the love of his life. Lou and Joan spent their time taking them on vacation, going to their sporting events and enjoyed watching them grow. His sense of humor, generosity and love will be greatly missed.
Left to honor his memory and remember his love and legacy besides his beloved wife of 40 years, Joan and his mother, Stella Sirois of Oakville, CT. he leaves his daughter, Gina Cardinale of Oakville, CT. son, Anthony Cardinale and his wife, Heather of Wolcott, CT. Louis and Joan were blessed with four grandchildren, granddaughter, Erika Yordon and husband, Nick of Waterbury, CT, grandsons; Nicholas, Justin and David Cardinale and a beautiful great-grand-daughter, Scarlett who brought him pure joy and made his eyes light up. He also leaves his sister, Diane Picard and husband Howard of Watertown, CT, brother, Allen (Kip) Sirois and his wife, Evelyn of Waterbury, CT as well as nieces; Donna, Darlene, Denise and nephew Allen and many other extended family members and friends.
Due to the current corona virus guidelines and associated governmental restrictions regarding the pandemic, all services for Mr. Sirois will be held privately and at the convenience of his family.
