Waterbury - Mrs. Louise M. Curtin, age 88, of Waterbury, died February 7, 2013, surrounded by her loving family at the Vitas Innovative Care Unit of St. Mary's Hospital after a brief illness. She was the widow of Thomas F. Curtin, Sr.

Louise was born October 17th, 1924, in Williamsport, PA the daughter of the late William and Mary (Costigan) Hill. She was a graduate of Naugatuck High School and received her nursing degree from St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing. Louise worked as a Registered Nurse for many years, until her retirement, and she was a member of the Nurses Cadet Corps through St. Mary's during WWII. Louise's life was enriched by enjoying many family traditions which will now be carried on by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She especially looked forward to her annual family vacation to the Jersey Shore. Louise was a parishioner of the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Church.

Among her survivors are her son Thomas F. (Gina) Curtin, Jr. and their sons Tom III, Kevin and Patrick of Trumbull. Her son Michael W. Curtin of Waterbury. Her daughters Marylou Curtin, Polly Curtin and her children Bridget (Sean) Perry and their children, Ceara and Teagan; Joseph (Lori) Goertz and their children Rian and Jude; and Lonnie Goertz. Teresa (Charles) Beaudoin and their sons Hank, Mike and Danny. Betsy's children Heather (Matt) Lane and their daughter, Abby; Missy (Dave) Martin and their children, Steven, Anna and Amelia; and Billy (Carol) Martino. Peggy (Kevin) Fogarty and their children Lauren (Gary) Lafferty, Sean, Erin and Meghan. Judy (Larry) Rush and their children Larry, Kathleen and Colleen. Cathy "Kate" (Jim) Rioux and their daughters Casey and Sarah. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter Elizabeth (Betsy) Curtin.

Funeral services for Mrs. Curtin will be held on Monday, February 11, 2013 leaving the funeral home at 9:00am for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:30am at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, 74 West Main St, Waterbury. Rites of Committal will follow in Saint James Cemetery in Naugatuck. Family and Friends may visit at EASTSIDE MEMORIAL " A Casey Family Funeral Home & Tribute Center," 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd, Waterbury, on Sunday, February 10th 2013 from 2:00 till 6:00 pm.
