Mrs. Lourdes Guerrero Feliz

WATERBURY – It is with profound sadness that the family of Lourdes Plinia Guerrero Feliz, age 84, of Waterbury share the news of her peaceful passing on March 10, 2025 at St. Mary’s Hospital surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. She was the widow of Rafael Evangelista Ovalles.

Lourdes was born on December 12, 1940, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, the daughter of the late Jose Ledesma Guerrero and Caridad Feliz. She earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing and worked as a registered nurse for some years, but was also the owner of a café in Puerto Rico for many years.Lourdes is remembered for her vibrant spirit and her love of life. She had a passion for crocheting and found joy in listening to music, often dancing along to the tunes of her favorite singer, Johnny Ventura. She delighted in cooking for her family and friends and was particularly fond of strawberry sundaes.Whether watching Univision or spending cherished moments with her family, Lourdes brought warmth and laughter wherever she went. She will be deeply missed by all those blessed to love and know her.

Left to cherish her memory are her children; Angel, Reynaldo “Muñeco”, Jose “Niño”, Yanet, Sobeida, Magaly “Belleza”, Yuderca “Cori”, Mildred, and Wendy as well as 29 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her first-born daughter, Zenayda.

Con profunda tristeza, la familia de Lourdes Plinia Guerrero Feliz, de 84 años, de Waterbury, comparte la noticia de su pacífico fallecimiento el 10 de marzo de 2025 en el Hospital St. Mary’s, rodeada del amor y la compañía de su familia. Fue la viuda de Rafael Evangelista Ovalles.

Lourdes nació el 12 de diciembre de 1940 en Santo Domingo, República Dominicana, hija de los fallecidos José Ledesma Guerrero y Caridad Feliz. Obtuvo su licenciatura en enfermería y trabajó como enfermera registrada durante algunos años, pero también fue dueña de una cafeteria en Puerto Rico por muchos años.

Lourdes será recordada por su espíritu vibrante y su amor por la vida. Tenía una gran pasión por el tejido de crochet y encontraba alegría en la música, a menudo bailando al ritmo de su cantante favorito, Johnny Ventura. Disfrutaba cocinar para su familia y amigos, y tenía un cariño especial por los helados con fresa.

Ya fuera viendo Univision o pasando momentos inolvidables con su familia, Lourdes llevaba calidez y alegría a dondequiera que iba. Será profundamente extrañada por todos los que tuvieron la bendición de conocerla y amarla.

Atesoran su memoria sus hijos: Ángel, Reynaldo “Muñeco”, José “Niño”, Yanet, Sobeida, Magaly “Belleza”, Yuderca “Cori”, Mildred y Wendy, así como sus 29 nietos, 25 bisnietos, numerosas sobrinas, sobrinos, familiares y amigos. Fue precedida en fallecimiento por su primogénita, Zenayda.
