Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather
NAUGATUCK– Lucien G. Marchesseault, passed away unexpectedly at Waterbury Hospital on Thursday, October 26, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Carol (Ermeri) Marchesseault. He was 90 years old.
Lucien was born on February 6, 1933, in Waterbury. He was the son of the late Egnas and Aurora (Jodoin) Marchesseault. He was a graduate of Leavenworth High School and proudly served his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean War, where he was stationed in Germany. Lucien spent many years working as an oil deliveryman and truck driver for Jannetty Oil Company. Following his retirement, Lucien loved to spend time around his home playing the harmonica, and tinkering in the garage on small machines while listening to Frank Sinatra. He could never drive by a flea market or tag sale sign without stopping. He was always looking to repair or polish almost anything: a car, a truck, and even a lawn mower, that he could make a great deal on. In doing so, he took great enjoyment in striking up conversations with new friends. Lucien was well liked by everyone. He loved taking many trips to the casino, as well as bowling–where he participated in several leagues in his younger years. He was a parishioner of St Michael’s Catholic Church. Of the most important things to Lucien was his family; he always looked forward to Sunday pasta dinners, especially dessert, while being surrounded by the love of his family, especially his grandchildren. Thank you, dad, for being the great provider that you were to our family in every way–from the many sacrifices, hugs, laughs, and unending love you instilled in all of us.
He is survived by his three children: Michael Marchesseault of Naugatuck, Christopher Marchesseault and his wife, Paula, of Waterbury, and Lori McWeeney and her husband, Fran, of Wolcott. He leaves four grandchildren: Christopher and Colin Marchesseault, and Alicia and Drew Michael McWeeney, as well as two great-grandchildren: Madeline and Savannah, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Carol, of 68 years and his loyal dog, Teddy, he was predeceased by his siblings: Paul and George
Marchesseault, Loretta Palladino, Flor Morrissette, and Theresa Lafontaine. Lucien also leaves his two siblings: Ernest Marchesseault of Waterbury, and Jeannette Laliberte of Middlebury.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 6, 2023, at 10:15 A.M. to begin from Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main St. in Waterbury, to end at St Michael’s R.C.
