OAKVILLE- Lucille E. (VanWagner) Chabot age 94 of Phillips Drive, passed away August 31, 2018 at Waterbury Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was pre-deceased by her husband Henry L. Chabot, Sr.

Lucille was born August 3, 1924 in Oakville, CT the daughter of the late LeRoy VanWagner and Grace (Smith) VanWagner. Lucille was a graduate of Waterbury Catholic High School. Lucille worked for US Time as a gyroscope inspector during WWll and later on with Watertown VNA as a Hospice Aide. Lucille enjoyed 50 years of coffee breaks with "The Bowling Ladies" and occasionally bowled, she was the Den Mother for Pack 52 in Oakville and served on the Watertown Board of Education. Lucille was an expert seamstress and over the years she made custom drapery, wedding dresses, prom dresses, bridal party gowns, Christening outfits, and countless alterations for anyone that needed them.

Besides her predeceased husband of 69 years, she leaves 4 sons, Henry L. Chabot Jr. and his wife Kathryn, Edmond J. Chabot and his wife Terri, Michael J. Chabot and his wife Susan, Joseph G. Chabot, Sr. and his wife Lena, four daughters Susan M. Brown and her husband Ralph, Katherine G. Harrison and her husband Fred, Denise C. Carbone and her husband Joe, Michelle P. Chabot and her wife Lori. She also leaves 13 grandchildren, Karen Palmer, Cheryl Cottrell, Frederick Harrison, Christopher Richmond, Matthew Brown, Danielle Hamilton, Ashley Glascock, Tyler Chabot, Joseph Chabot, Jr., Gabriel Chabot, Daniel Chabot, Renee Chabot, Samantha Chabot and 16 great grandchildren. What a legacy!

Funeral services for Mrs. Chabot will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2018 when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Magdalen Church 16 Buckingham St Oakville at 10:00 a.m. Those planning to attend are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Mt Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. Relatives and friends may visit with Lucille's family on Wednesday evening from 5:00 till 8:00 p.m. at the O'Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main Street, Oakville, CT. To honor Lucille's memory and in lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Saint Mary Magdalen School, 140 Buckingham Street, Oakville, CT 06779 or to Covenant House, Times Square Station, P.O.
