'Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and community servant'

WOLCOTT - Lucille (Hodges) Garrigus, 89, passed away at home on March 5, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late John "Skip" Garrigus.

Lucille was born March 31, 1931 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Warren and Gertrude Hodges. Lucille taught at Monarch Nursery School, was an active volunteer in her community and member of many organizations including: Daughters of the American Revolution; Farmingbury Women's Club, Busy Bees; Mill Plain Union Church, Women's Guild, Outreach Committee and the India Mission Christian Orphanage; Wolcott Special Olympics; local Women's Shelter; Garrigus Family Association Historian. She enjoyed UCONN Women's Basketball, Duckpin bowling at Perillo's and playing scrabble with her friends.

She is survived by her children; Mark (Karen) Garrigus of Wolcott, Karen (Daniel) Lang of Waterbury, Paul (Lori) Garrigus of Wolcott and Peter (Patricia) Garrigus of Bryan, OH; grandchildren Daniel, Joseph and Robert Garrigus, Damian and Danelle Lang, Marisa Venditti, Adam and Ashley Garrigus, Samuel, Benjamin and Olivia Garrigus; great grandchildren Makyla, Sophia, Antonio, Caleigh, Parker, Avery and Jackson. Lucille was predeceased by her brother, Warren Hodges.

A Memorial Service for Mrs. Garrigus will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at the Mill Plain Union Church, 262 Southmayd Rd. Waterbury. We are very concerned about everyone's health so all federal and state guidelines relative to COVID #19 will be strictly enforced. Burial will be private.
