WATERBURY – Lucille (Mennillo) LeBlanc, age 84 of Waterbury, loving wife of Ronald LeBlanc, passed away peacefully, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her husband, children and grandchildren on Saturday, May 14, 2022 after a brief illness.
Lucille was born on January 24, 1938, in Beacon Falls CT the daughter of the late Albert and Madelena (Longo) Mennillo. Lucille graduated from Waterbury Catholic High School and worked as a Medical Secretary for Dr. Alfonso Della Pietra. That is where she met the love of her life, Ron, and they were married on September 1, 1958. Lucille was a deeply devout Catholic and attended mass every day. Her entire life revolved around her family, and she was affectionately known as “Momma Lou”. She shared countless memories with her family and loved her trips to Maine and Disneyworld. Lucille was a fierce gin rummy played and loved to sing and dance. She was the family’s strongest cheerleader, never missing a game, recital, play, or pageant, and was always there to support her family and build them back up. Lucille lived life to the fullest, blessed by her faith, family, and friends.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory besides her husband Ron of 63 years, are her children; Chris (Kevin) Lawlor, Dae (Lisa) LeBlanc, Paula (Joe) Giannelli and Michele Ferrucci. Lucille and Ron were blessed with 9 grandchildren; Ryan (Jaclyn) Lawlor, Randi (Tyle) Whitley, Erika (Thomas) Giannelli-Kilroy, Joe (Micah) Giannelli, Alex (John) Giannelli, Lauren (Ryan) LeBanc-Hughes, Kayla (Matt) Ferrucci, Matthew LeBlanc and Kyle Ferrucci as well as great grandchildren; Emma and Fae Whitley, Brice and Quinn Lawlor, Elowen Giannelli-Kilroy and soon to be born baby Vivia Giannelli. Lucille also leaves her sister, Cindy Long and her favorite nieces, Debbie, Danielle, and GeGe Torello.
Funeral Services for Mrs. LeBlanc will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 10:00 am when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church 785 Highland Ave Waterbury. Those planning to attend are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Mt Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. To honor Lucille’s memory and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Aortic Institute of Yale New Haven Health, 800 Howard Ave. 2nd Floor, New Haven CT 06519 would be greatly appreciated by her family.
