WATERBURY- Luis A. "Guichi" Torres, age 53, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, January 24, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Teresa Martinez Torres.
Mr. Torres was born February 20, 1960 in Penuelas, Puerto Rico, the son of the late Maximo and Dominga (Plannas) Torres. Luis moved to the United States at the age of sixteen and worked as a buffer and polisher at Woodbury Pewter for many years and was the owner operator of Guichi Music where he would D.J. for many different types of parties and events. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Besides his wife Teresa of 26 years, Luis is survived by his sons, Carlos Martinez and his wife Christina, Gerardo Vega, Luis A. Torres Jr. and Jose A. Torres all of Waterbury, his daughter, Teresa Dominga Torres of Waterbury, his grandchild Jennica Celina Martinez, as well as many brothers and sisters.
Funeral services for Mr. Torres will be held on Wednesday January 29th 2014 at 9:30am From Eastside Memorial, a Casey Family Funeral Home and Tribute Center, 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd. Waterbury to Sacred Heart, Sagrado Corazon Church 13 Wolcott St. Waterbury to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00a.m. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with Luis's family on Tuesday Evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
