Beloved Mother, Daughter, sister and Grandmother
WATERBURY - Lula Carletha Hawley, age 49, passed away unexpectedly at Home on Thursday, February 28, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.
Lula was born on July 7, 1969 in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of Lonnie Hawley II of Henderson, N.C. and Hazel (Stovall) Hawley of Waterbury. Lula grew up in Waterbury and was a graduate of Wolcott High School and Post University where she received her bachelor's degree in International Business as well as her Paralegal Certificate. Lula had worked as a corporate paralegal for several companies throughout the area including, Chemtura in Middlebury and most recently at the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation in Norwalk. Lula had a very lively personality and was a self-proclaimed "Theater Performer". Lula was a member of the Actors Equity Association and loved to perform, sing, and dance and she performed in several area venues including Seven Angels Theater and the Thomaston Opera House to name just a few. Although she kept herself busy with her career, travel and the arts, there was nothing more important to Lula than her family. She was always happiest while spending time with them, especially her grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Lula is survived by her beloved children, Ian Blake of Waterbury, Lianna Moreno of Bristol, and Ilana Hawley of Waterbury. She also leaves her brothers, Mark Hawley of Atlanta, GA and Lonnie Hawley III of Waterbury and her adoring grandchildren, Evan Howell and Jaela Hawley.
Funeral services for Ms. Hawley will be held on Wednesday March 6th 2019 at 10:00am at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home, 1987 East Main Street @ Southmayd Road, Waterbury, CT 06705 CT. Burial will held at the families convenience in Hawley Cemetery, Oxford, NC. Relatives and friends may visit with Lula's family on Tuesday, March 5th from 5:00 till 700 PM at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home, 1987 East Main Street @ Southmayd Road, Waterbury, CT 06705.
