Waterbury - Luminada Vega, age 68, of Waterbury, passed away on June 9, 2019 at Waterbury Hospital surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.
Luminada was born in Puerto Rico on September 8th 1950, the daughter of the late Liberato Silva and Dominga (Caro) Silva. Luminada was a caring mother, sister, and friend who will be remembered for her infectious smile and her ability to make anyone she met feel at ease. She enjoyed listening to music and spending time with her family. She was a loving wife to her late husband Aguedo Vega, with whom she spent many loving years. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Among her survivors are her daughter Luminada Planas and her husband Josie Planas of Waterbury, her sisters Margarita Silva of Miami FL, and Miriam Silva of Waterbury. In addition, she also leaves behind her beloved granddaughter Emily Planas.
Funeral services for Mrs. Vega will be held on Wednesday June 12, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St. @ Southmayd Rd. Relatives and friends may visit with Luminada's family at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury.
