WATERBURY- It is with profound sadness that the family of Luz C. Santos (Arce) age 93 of Waterbury, share the news of her peaceful passing in the comfort of her home on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 surrounded by the love and care of her family.
Luz was born in Penuelas, Puerto Rico February 9th 1931, the daughter of the late Luis Arce and Catalina Santos. While growing up in Ponce, Luz diligently worked for a packing company before her retirement. Luz was a woman of simple pleasures; she found solace in the comfort of watching her favorite television shows and listening to music. Her eyes sparkled with joy whenever she tuned into her cherished Novellas or indulged in classic Bugs Bunny and Pink Panther cartoons. These moments brought a sense of happiness and ease to her heart, a testament to the enduring simplicity and beauty she found in life's small pleasures. Luz was a truly remarkable woman who enjoyed a long life, well lived. Her unconditional love and dedication to her family will live on in the hearts of her large and devoted family.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory are her children; Evelyn Santos, Carlos Orengo, Francisco Orengo, and Adeline Orengo. She also leaves her siblings; Minerva Bultes, Norma Gonzalez, Virgen Caraballo, Antonia Cruz Arce, Angel Arce, Luis Arce Jr., and Roberto Arce. Luz was blessed with three grandchildren, Luis Daniel Santos, Rafael Ayala, and Eileen Ayala, and one great-granddaughter, Tanisha Rodriguez. She was predeceased by her brother, Monserrate Arce.
Funeral services for Mrs. Santos will be held on Tuesday, November 12th, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. from Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 1987 East Main St Waterbury to the Shrine of St Anne’s Church, Todos Los Santos All Saints Parish to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery, Meriden Rd Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with the Santos family on Tuesday morning from 9:30 am until 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
