WATERBURY–Makhi Mazon, age 17, of Waterbury, passed away unexpectedly at Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford on Tuesday, August 8th 2023.
Makhi was born July 11th, 2006, in Waterbury, CT, the son of William Griffin and Annette Mazon. He was raised in Waterbury and was attending school at the Waterbury Enlightenment School. Makhi was an avid sports enthusiast but had a passion for playing basketball. He also enjoyed video games and spending time with his family and friends.
Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory, besides his parents are his girlfriend Mya Gowder of East Hartford, his paternal grandparents, Brenda and Glenn Walden and, his maternal grandmother. Linda Mazon. He also leaves his brothers, William Griffin Jr., and Rmani Griffin both of Bridgeport and his sister, Ginodja Mazon of Waterbury as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and many friends.
A Memorial Service for Mr. Mazon will be held on Thursday, August 17th 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main St., Waterbury, CT 06705. Relatives and friends may visit with Makhi’s family on Thursday morning from 10:00am until the service starts at 11:00am. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of his family.
