SOUTHBURY - Margaret Farrell Campi, age 84, passed away peacefully on Tuesday March 19th 2019 surrounded by her loving family in her home at The Hearth in Southbury, CT. She was the widow of Charles Campi
Margaret was born December 12, 1934 in Yonkers, NY, the daughter of the late Harold and Helen (Tully) Farrell. A lifelong resident of Waterbury, she graduated from Wilby High School and was the owner of Four Seasons Travel in Waterbury. Margaret was an active member of SKIRTS, an organization of female travel agency owners and managers. During her career as a travel agent Margaret was fortunate enough to travel throughout Europe, the Middle East, and South/Central America. She had a deep love of the arts, often visiting museums and later in life volunteered at the Mattatuck Museum. Margaret was always generous in her support of civic, cultural, and humanitarian causes. She an avid UCONN basketball fan, and excelled at crossword puzzles and also enjoyed reading.
Margaret is survived by her siblings William Farrell and his wife, Pat of Port St. Lucie FL, and Harold Farrell and his wife, Kay of New Port Richey, FL as well as her nephews and nieces with whom she was especially close to including her nephew Greg Farrell and his wife Amy Hickingbotham, nieces Elaine Dacey and her husband Charlie, and Lisa Moore as well as other extended family member and friends. Besides her husband Charles, Margaret is predeceased by her brother Jack Farrell, and her sisters, Maureen Pascal and Ellen Potts.
Margaret's family would like to thank and acknowledge the Staff at The Hearth of Southbury and to Seasons Hospice of Middlebury for all the kindness, care, love and support they provided to Margaret and her family during her illness.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Campi will be held on Saturday March 23rd 2019 at 11:00am at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd. Waterbury, Ct 06705. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with Margaret's family on Saturday morning from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00.
