WATERBURY - Margaret F. "Marge" Carroll, age 89 of Waterbury, passed away on Sunday May 15, 2016, after a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. She was the wife of the late Thomas R. "Bootsie" Carroll.
Margaret was born November 22, 1926 the daughter of the late James and Ellen (Cunningham) Hogan. She attended Shelton High School. After marrying Bootsie on November 29, 1952, they made their home in Waterbury. Marge was a homemaker, raising her five children before beginning her career at the State of Connecticut. She worked for the Department of Family Relations as a Supervisor for 20 years before retiring in 1997. She loved cooking for her family, reading, crossword puzzles, but most of all she loved her family and spending time with them.
She leaves a son, Jerald James Carroll of Waterbury, four daughters, Ellen O'Connor and her husband, Mike and Kathleen Dunham and her husband, Matt both of Portsmouth, RI. Elizabeth Martinsen and husband, Russ of Middlebury and Cecile M. Galer and her husband, Matt of Livingston, MT. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Thomas D. Carroll, Meghan O'Connor Miller, Sean Thomas O'Connor, Samuel and Henry Galer, and one beautiful great grandchild, Emi Mae Miller. The family would like to thank and acknowledge the staff at Apple Rehabilitation of Watertown for the wonderful care and time they spent with Marge.
A Celebration of Margaret's life will be held on Saturday, June 4th at 10:30 a.m directly at Saints Peter & Paul Church, 63 Southmayd Rd. Waterbury, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home has been entrusted to assist the family with arrangements.
