WATERBURY – Mrs. Margaret “Peggy” W. (Duncan) Johnston age 93 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at the Middlebury Convalescent Home. She was the widow of Andrew Johnston.
Peggy was born in Whitburn, Scotland, on March 27, 1929, the daughter of the late William and Mary (Davies) Duncan. She and Andrew married in Scotland in 1952 and emigrated to the U.S. in 1953. For many years Peggy was the loyal housekeeper and cook for the Olsen Family of Timex Corp. She was an avid traveler and always looked forward to her summer vacations with family at the Jersey shore. She enjoyed music of all types but what was most important to Peggy in life was her family. She will be truly missed by all those who were blessed to know and love her. May her memory be a blessing to all.
Left to cherish her memory and honor her legacy are her children: James Johnston and his wife,
Therese of Hatboro PA, and her daughter, Sandra Rosa and her husband Carl of Waterbury. Margaret and Andrew were blessed with 5 grandchildren; Jason, Lindsay, Jennifer, Andrew, Tyler and 6 great grandchildren; Jordan, Ryan, Liam, Luca, Evan and Walker. She also leaves her sister; Elsbeth Garden, and brother-in-law Ronnie, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Tom Duncan.
Funeral services for Mrs. Johnston will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Peg will be repatriated to her native Scotland.
