Margaret "Peggy" LeClair

TORRINGTON - Mrs. Margaret (Perry) LeClair, age 86 formerly of Naugatuck and Watertown, died peacefully on Saturday, May13, 2017 at Valarie Manor in Torrington. She was the widow of Robert C. LeClair Sr.

Peggy was born June 4, 1930 in Naugatuck the daughter of the late Harold and Margaret (Fitzpatrick) Perry and lived in Watertown since 1955. She was a graduate of Naugatuck High School, Class of 1948 and attended Moore School of Art & Design in Pennsylvania graduating with a Bachelors Degree in fashion design. Peggy worked for many years as a Customer Service Representative at Northeast Utilities, retiring after many years of service. Peggy was a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church in Watertown and was a member of the Watertown Art League and the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, Naugatuck Division # 1 and served as officers in both organizations. Peggy was honored to serve as Mayor of the Day in Naugatuck. She was an avid painter and seamstress and loved to do needlepoint. She will be fondly remembered for her beautiful Christmas stockings that she made for her grandchildren. She loved to travel the world with her husband, visiting Ireland often. Peggy will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son, Robert C. LeClair Jr and his wife, Julia of Waterbury, her two daughters, Margaret Anne "Meg" Delaney and her husband, Fran of Winsted and Dianne L. Fassio and her husband, Robert of Torrington, six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Perry of Naugatuck.

Funeral services for Mrs. LeClair will be held on Friday, May 19, 2017 at 9:30 a,m. from the O'Neill Funeral Home 742 Main St. Oakville to St. John the Evangelist Church Main St Watertown to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial with rites of Committal will follow in Evergreen Cemetery Watertown. Relatives and friends may visit with Peggy's family from 5:00 till 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
