WATERBURY - Margaret "Peggy" (Flahive) Petro, age 83, of Edgewood Ave., Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 with her daughters by her side. She was the widow of Raymond Petro.
Peggy was born on November 24, 1935 in Waterbury the daughter of the late Martin and Anna (Mannix) Flahive. She was an easy-going woman who loved her family, friends and neighbors. She enjoyed traveling and loved babysitting. Peggy volunteered at St. Francis Xavier School and local democratic campaigns. She made friends easily and was always up for a cup of coffee.
Peggy leaves her daughters: Nancy Petro and companion James Ricciuti of Waterbury and Lorraine Petro also of Waterbury. She is now reunited with her parents, her husband Raymond, her brother Maurice, and her infant daughter Laura Ann Petro. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
Funeral services for Mrs. Petro will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. at Mt Olivet Cemetery, Platt Rd. Watertown CT. Relatives and friends may visit with Peggy's family on Tuesday morning from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m at O'Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main Street, Oakville, CT. To honor Peggy's memory, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Francis Xavier Church, 625 Baldwin Street, Waterbury.
