WATERBURY - Ms. Margarita Ortiz, age 73, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family at the Autumn Lakes Health Care Center in Waterbury on Friday, July 30th 2021.
Margarita was born June 11th 1948 in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, the daughter of the late Pedro and Osvaldina (Santos) Ortiz. Margarita was a longtime Waterbury resident and was a loving and caring mother and homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, especially for family gatherings and also enjoyed playing dominos, listening to music and watching her favorite TV shows.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory, are her children; Diana Ortiz and her husband, Enrique, Angelo, Penelope, and Valeria. She is also survived by her brothers; Aristides and his wife Isabel and Roberto, and her sister, Teresa. In addition, she leaves her adoring grandchildren; Angelica, Amanda, Josiah and Caleb as well as five great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends.
A Memorial Gathering for Ms. Ortiz will be held Friday, August 6th, 2021 from 5:00 to 6:45pm at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury CT. A prayer service will be held at 6:45pm. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of her family. We are very concerned about everyone's health and safety and due to the increase rise in the Delta variant of Covid 19 in the Waterbury area, we are requesting all visitors wear a mask to assure a safe, orderly and comfortable environment to express your support to the Ortiz family.
