Lifelong Waterbury Resident
WATERBURY—It is with profound sadness that the family of Margie Lefebvre, age 82, of Waterbury, shares the news of the peaceful passing of their beloved mother, sister, aunt, nana, and grammy, on Saturday, November 16th, 2024, at Waterbury Hospital after a brief illness. She was the widow of Gratien Lefebvre
Margie was born on May 10th, 1942, in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of the late George and Josephine (Szymanski) Jakubczyk. Throughout her life, Margie worked in the manufacturing and restaurant industry in Waterbury, leaving a lasting impact on those who she came in contact with. Margie's talents were exemplified in her stunning products of knitting and crocheting. Margie had a knack for keeping tabs on her family and friends, constantly staying up-to-date with their lives and eager to provide them with advice on the latest weather updates. Her genuine interest in the lives of others endeared her to many, and her warm and caring nature will be greatly missed.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory are her children: William Lefebvre and his wife, Tina of Northfield, George Lefebvre of Waterbury, Linda Valunas and her husband; Thomas of Oakville, Margaret Lemay of Waterbury, and Pierrette Lefebvre of Waterbury. She also leaves 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Margie is predeceased by her siblings Anthony, Edward, George, and Joseph Jakubczyk, Mary Wilbur, Jennie Malenfant, and Linda Jakubczyk.
