Marguerite Apicella

September 6, 1927 — November 15, 2015

WATERBURY - Mrs. Marguerite Apicella, age 88, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 15th, 2015, at Yale New Haven Hospital surrounded by the love and comfort of her family after an extended illness. She was the wife of retired Waterbury Police Lieutenant Edward J. Apicella.

Mrs. Apicella was born September 6, 1927, the daughter of the late Louis and Helen (Maher) Rein. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart School and was an artist in her own right and loved decorating, sewing, and creating ceramics. Most importantly she loved and treasured the time she spent with her family.

Besides her loving husband, Edward of 68 years, Marguerite is survived by her children; David Apicella and his wife, Frances of Woodbury, Edward Apicella and his wife, Karen of Southington, Cynthia Bethancourt and her husband, David of Waterbury, Robyn Apicella and Michael of Woodbury. In addition, she leaves her 5 grandchildren, David Apicella, Kristen Deslauriers, Kelly Bliss, Brandon and Kendra Apicella and her 5 great grandchildren as well as several nieces, and nephews.

The Apicella family would like to thank and acknowledge the staff of The Village Green of Waterbury as well as St Mary's Hospital, and Yale New Haven Hospital for the concern and compassionate care they provided to Marguerite and her family during her stays.

Funeral services for Mrs. Apicella will be held on Thursday, November 19th, 2015 at 10:00am from Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St Waterbury to Saints Peter and Paul Church Southmayd Rd. Waterbury, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am. Burial will follow in New Calvary Cemetery Waterbury. Relatives and Friends of Mrs. Apicella may visit with her family on Wednesday, November 18th from 4:00 ~ 7:00pm at the funeral home.
