THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING AND CARING FOR THE FAMILY OF MARGUERITE MORIN

WATERBURY - Marguerite T. Morin, age 93 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2018 at The Vitas Innovative Care Unit at Saint Mary's Hospital surrounded by the love and comfort of her family after an extended illness. She was the widow of Robert P. Morin.

Marguerite was born on July 16, 1925 in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of the late Armand N. and Lillian (Boisvert) Garceau. A lifelong resident of Waterbury's East End, Marguerite graduated from Chase Grammar School and Waterbury Catholic High School. She worked as a secretary and stenographer for almost ten years at Waterbury Companies, where she met her beloved husband, Robert. They were married on October 5, 1946. After they married, she left work to begin a family, which eventually consisted of five children. After raising her children, she returned to work, part-time, as a Site Coordinator for the Meals on Wheels at the Robin Ridge Elderly Apartments. She worked there for over 20 years and thoroughly enjoyed serving the elderly community. She retired in December, 2001 and proceeded to enjoy her retirement years with her family.

Marguerite was a devoted Christian, having been born-again on April 7, 1998. She attended the Gospel Hall in Terryville for many years. She was mentally sharp until her last day, loved to read, and enjoyed watching Jeopardy. In her later years, she resided with her daughter, Marilyn, and son, Stephen, who gave her compassionate care. In their homes, son-in-law Jim, daughter-in-law Carolyn, and grandsons Kenneth, Daniel and Aaron showed her much love and kindness. There is much that could be said about her rich and full life, but all can be summed up in one statement: "She loved her husband, her family, and her home, with a love that was unselfish, unconditional, unreserved and unwavering". Marguerite greatly appreciated her physician, Dr. Edmund Caporaso, who gave her twenty-five years of exceptional and compassionate care through many illnesses, and his staff, who were always very kind. She also thought very highly of her physician Dr. Raissi. The family extends their thanks to these doctors.

Marguerite is survived by four of her five beloved children: Stephen Morin (Carolyn) of Plymouth, Peggy Somma (Eric) of Prospect, John Morin, Sr. (Janet) of Wolcott, and Marilyn Finnegan (James) of Waterbury. She is also survived by several cherished grand¬children: Daniel Morin, Aaron Morin (Jessica), Robert Somma (Diana), Brian Somma (Rebekah), John Morin, Jr. (Sabrina), Lindsay Ruszczyk (Mark), Matthew Morin, and Kenneth Finnegan, and great grandchildren: Juliana, Ivy, Willow, River, Finn, Summer and Henry. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Robert, with whom she enjoyed over 65 years of marriage, and her son, Gregory.
