Devoted Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother

WATERBURY – It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that the family of Maria Isolina Figueiredo, age 92, share the news of her unexpected passing in the comfort of her home on Wednesday October 2nd, 2024. She was the widow of Americo Trindade Correia. 

Maria was born in Portugal on October 1, 1932, daughter of the late Arnaldo Figueiredo and Maria Russo Figueiredo. Maria immigrated to the United States in 1991. She enjoyed being a homemaker her whole life, enjoyed crocheting, but loved nothing more than being surrounded by her loving family. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her. Maria was exceptional in every way for she excelled the most at being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Our family thanks you Mom, for every prayer you uttered for us, for the many sacrifices you made for us, for thousands of hugs you shared with us and the unending love you instilled in all of us. 

Maria will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Rosa Lourenco and her husband, Mario of Waterbury, her grandchildren Fatima Fonseca Schwartz and her husband, Darren of Waterbury and Carlos Lourenco of Hartford and her great granddaughter, Evelyn.

Funeral services for Mrs. Figueiredo will be held on Thursday, October 10th, 2024, at 11:00A.M. when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima Church 2071 Baldwin Street, Waterbury, CT 06706. All those planning to attend are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. There are no calling hours and burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
